The FIFA 2014 World Cup is behind us now. This time more people watched the matches around the world than ever before. Millions remained awake in the wee hours, while most watched just for recreation and fun. The heart throbbing matches and sleepless nights are now over. So, after the nerve wrecking cup, I learned some significant success principles that reaffirmed my beliefs about life and profession.

1. If there were no goal posts on the field there's no game.
-Just imagine everyone running and kicking the ball but no goals can be scored. It will be just so boring. No one will bother to watch it. Thus, the million dollar question is, do I have worthwhile goals that I am pursuing in this life or just kicking away every day of my life aimlessly . Ahh!! OMG it will be just so boring and depressing.

2. Every player who played at World Cup are a cut above the rest of their countrymen.
-To qualify for their national team all these players had a sickening schedule with the most arduous physical and mental training. And certainly their life was not balanced. They sacrificed family, friends for
the bigger mission, they knew what to say "no" to and whom to say "yes" to. Therefore personally, I can inculcate that If I am pursuing a dream to fruition I have to learn to say "No" to some friends and family who are not supportive. I have to practice like a champion everyday maybe 12-14 hours a day with laser focus.

3. Don't keep looking at your past accomplishments.
-Adapt to new ideas and strategies. Scolari (who has resigned by now)was an old school coach of Brazil and they were basking more in their past glory hence they lost their cool when the Germans scored so early in the game. If you have done great in the past, then it's fantastic! Pat on your shoulders!! But that's over now. It was perhaps accomplished with techniques that are already outdated. However, to go to a brand new level, we need a brand new technique.

4. Nothing just happens with a one man show even if he is superstar, because in his absence, the team fumbles.
-Portugal had Ronaldo, Brazil had Neymar, Argentina had Messi but Germany had a team and even though none of their players had a stalwart stature, however these no name players had a team work which ennobled them to lift the trophy. Now a question that needs to be   introspected by all, are we the    only bread winner or are we building teams for success? Because during those junctures of life when we are down, it's the team that will back us up in all respects particularly financial security

5. I believe, Holland lost to Argentina in penalty shootout. Perhaps because they sent their weakest guy for the first penalty kick, but Argentina on the contrary sent their best, Messi!! And when he scored and the other couldn't, panic crept in and Holland missed again!
-Thus always put your best foot forward, look for the best association to develop yourself, read the right books watch and listen the best stuff that elevates your spirit, restart with the biggest momentum and eventually all past toxicity will be wiped off.

6. To score a goal is not a cake-walk.
-You have to hustle, dribble through so many offense and defense and they will try to stop you with all their might, physically abuse you, you may even be carried away on a stretcher. This was evident enough as so many players were injured including Neymar, just because they wanted to score. Even the German captain had blood all over his face as he received the World Cup. In life the moment you put your head above the general crowd, u will be thrown stones, REJECTION IS THE PRICE OF AMBITION. Bountiful people, as well as situation and distraction will try to foul you to kick you out of the game but you need to physically and mentally construct yourself to counter all of them. And when you eventually score, you rise above all challenges. Fame, money and all of "them" will now respect you and want to be like YOU.

Last but, not the least, my ultimate observation,
7. Believe in the almighty or a superior power.
-Almost every player was praying in and out of the field, before the game, before a shot and in all different times. Remember even a skilled doctor can only give the medicines but then he leaves the patient on the ultimate power.

When life takes you for a ride, just pray with all your might as ‘PRAYER CAN CHANGE THINGS’. Also gratitude is also of utmost importance in our prayers. Express gratitude for what you have and pray for what you want.

6 STEPS TO LEADERSHIP

1) Make sure we know what our service to the world is.
-We must feel lucky enough for having taken birth as humans. In this mammoth world where there is no dearth of living creatures, human beings are the most powerful bunch of creatures. And as they say, with great power comes great responsibility, thus to keep up the essence of humanism we must remember to pay our service to this world. We all know that every individual is different from one another, but it will make sense only when we standout to make a difference. We might not always succeed in doing great things, but we can always try out and do small things in a great mannerism.

2) Mastery over a particular aspect
-It’s agreeable that life is too short and one must always try out his hand on every possible thing, so that during the perorating junctures of his life, he’s not left with regrets. But, the story doesn’t end here. It’s true that we must taste every paltry of life’s recipe, but also need to have one favorite cruisine, only then we can lead. In a simpler form, we can compare success and leadership to digging a well. If we are handed with the task of digging a well in a plot of land and find water. And every other day, after digging say 5-10 meters we keep changing spots and start digging again, our hunt for water would never end. Rather, with patience we need to continue digging in one particular spot until our quest for water is fulfilled. Thus, in a nutshell, one person cannot be the best one in all that he endeavors at the same time. However, he can always have a mastery over one particular aspect.

3) Acquire the art of speaking pitching our point clear.
-Some people are good writers than communicators or vice-versa. But, what differentiates a commoner from a leader is he has both of these. Most important is the art of speaking. If we stretch back to our schooldays, we can reminisce how during the classes of certain teachers the best things we did was to take a peaceful nap, doesn’t mattered how important the subject was!! It’s all about the art of speaking and presentation skill. Most boring stuffs under the sun can be spoken and presented in an utmost attractive and lively manner. Believe it or not, but while taking to someone, we mostly relate to the person who is speaking and not what he is speaking!! Having magnanimity in the spoken words must be possessed by a leader. However, this is not something that we can learn over night, but need to be grasped and acquired over the time.

4) Learn to communicate succinctly making a difference in the lives of others.
-As leaders our responsibility even multiples and we need to express ourselves with added care, because somewhere, somehow our words are impacting someone’s life. We must try to make a difference in others’ lives. Life is all about inspiration and igniting all the souls nearby, because at the end this is what will take us to heights. We can prove our leadership only when we can inculcate thousands of leaders amongst us. And leadership is all about igniting souls which is a never ending viral process. This is what would perhaps certify us as successful leaders.

5) Cultivate your ability to save.
-The greatest duty of a leader is to take responsibility for failures and impart all the credits to the team for successes. Problems synonymously challenges are bound to interrupt our journey, but as a leader we must never let it overtake us. As leader our responsibility is to take the team to the succeeding juncture under a canopy of safety without having nudged them about the problems that the leader has to tackle. At the end when it all ends well, then must make it a point to say, ‘it’s because of the team.’ If something goes out of order have enough guts to say, ‘As leader, I take sole responsibility for the entire course of action.’

6) Our Success must be loud enough
- We are subjected to most of the challenges, criticized, laughed on, in our lives by our closed ones. But, we can’t always shut off the hate mongers around us through word of mouth or a ferocious fight and doing so is highly unsolicited. Thus, we must make it a point to make our success loud enough, so that our work speaks for us and our success make the noise.
